The ideal candidate should have 5+ years’ experience as a SQL Server Database Administrator with at least 2 years’ experience with data modeling. The candidate should possess experience with all aspects of creating and maintaining a database environment, including but not limited to: logical and physical design, backup and recovery, monitoring and tuning, SQL knowledge and troubleshooting performance issues.
The primary responsibilities of this position will be to provide support for ongoing maintenance of our SQL Server implementations. The successful candidate must be organized and detailed oriented with the ability to work independently on multiple tasks and possess excellent communications and analytical skills.
Detailed description:
• Design, create and maintain Databases, Tables, Indexes, Stored Procedures, etc.
• Translate Logical Data Models into physical structures
• Assist with planning, testing and implementation of SQL Server upgrades and patches
• Manage and maintain database security
• Perform database / application problem determination
• Monitor and manage database backups and logs
• Develop and maintain detailed documentation relating to procedures, processes and standards
• Monitor system status, performance, capacity and growth
• Provide assistance and knowledge transfer to developers, relative to SQL usage and technical design
• Track problems and resolutions with 3rd party vendors
Required skills:
• Strong expertise in SQL Server Database Administration
• Expert knowledge in performance monitoring/tuning and SQL optimization
• Strong analysis skills
• Good experience in database design and database configuration management
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Strong understanding of SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS)
• Good understanding of SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS)
• Ability to translate Logical Data Models into physical structures
• Good understanding of TCP/IP and network communication
• Good knowledge of Windows Server OS
The following experience is not required, but a plus
• SQL Server AlwaysOn Availability Groups (AAG)
• SQL Server data Partitioning
